The National Association of RV Parks and Campgrounds (ARVC) will host a sports-themed welcome reception, sponsored by RMS North America, to kick off the 2021 Outdoor Hospitality Conference & Expo (OHCE).
The reception is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. Nov. 8 at Jimmy Vs, a Raleigh-based restaurant named for the North Carolina State basketball coach Jim Valvano. Valvano passed away from cancer in 1993. Attendees are encouraged by the ARVC to wear their favorite sports team gear to the reception.
“We will kick off OHCE2021 like you have never seen,” said David Basler, vice president of membership and marketing at ARVC. “In addition to enjoying an exciting event, attendees will make a meaningful difference in the fight against cancer just by showing up.”
Jimmy Vs will dedicate the proceeds from food and beverage sales at the reception to the Jimmy V Foundation, which supports cancer research.
“RMS is thrilled to sponsor ARVC’s welcome reception this year and help set the tone for the rest of the conference,” said Adelle Rodriguez, director of marketing for RMS North America. “The world of hospitality has been flipped on its head in the last 19 months, and we are excited to have a reason to come together as an industry with ARVC and learn how to collaborate and cater to today’s campers and travelers. We hope everyone is as eager as we are.”
The welcome reception will have games, food and beverage options and entertainment. North Carolina singer Josh Daniel will be on-hand for a live performance, sponsored by BMI, a music licensing program.
“Music enhances the overall experience at any campground or RV park,” said Jessica Frost, executive director of industry relations for BMI. “We appreciate opportunities like the welcome reception at ARVC’s Outdoor Hospitality Conference and Expo because it gives our songwriters a platform to share their music and the stories behind the songs that we all enjoy.”
