ASA Electronics will be among the companies participating in the North American Trailer Dealers Association (NATDA) virtual Trailer Show, running through Oct. 28 in Nashville, Tennessee.
ASA Electronics, a supplier of mobile electronics for the RV, marine, commercial vehicle and power sports industries, will exhibit its new Voyager Vision mobile app. The technology turns a driver’s smart phone into a wireless observation monitor for any tow vehicle when connected to the WVOS2TX Voyager Wi-Fi Transmitter.
“We realized quickly that the same tow vehicle isn’t always pulling the same trailer,” stated Jeff Gray, VP of ASA Electronics’ trailer division. “We wanted to create a way to get observation safety technology on as many trailers as possible as efficiently as possible. We started looking at a tool pretty much every driver already has in their pocket, a smart phone.”
The Wi-Fi transmitter can be installed on any part of the trailer, ASA Electronics stated, as long as there is a reliable 12-volt connection from the tow vehicle.
Voyager’s wired cameras are compatible with the transmitter, which can support up to two wired connections simultaneously for low speed and stationary observation. This is the Elkhart, Indiana-based company’s first year exhibiting at the NATDA Trailer Show.
