The Association of Dealership Compliance Officers (ADCO) will host an in-person workshop Jan. 16-18. The seminar will provide certification for dealership compliance professionals.
ADCO said the workshop is designed for those compliance officers new to the industry. The event takes place at the Hilton Dallas/Southlake Town Square hotel in Southlake, Texas, about 15 minutes from Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport.
The two-and-a-half-day workshop will teach attendees about federal regulations affecting the dealership and how to create, execute and manage a compliance management system (CMS).

Attendees will:
- Receive basic knowledge, steps and tools to execute a CMS. Topics include:
- Oversight
- Policies and procedures
- Communication and training
- Risk assessment, mitigation plans
- Monitoring and auditing
- Compliance investigation
- Response and prevention
- Leadership modules
- Review federal regulations that impact the dealership from showroom to shop, with additional modules on the Safeguards Rule and voluntary protection products
- Interact and network with other compliance professionals
An optional Dealership Compliance Officer Professional Certification examination will be offered at the seminar’s end. CLE, CPE, and SHRM continuing education credits will be available.
