Leadership sessions are populating the 2024 RVDA Convention/Expo agenda. In addition to her “Giving Feedback” course, Pollack Peacebuilding Systems peacebuilder consultant Sara Jeckovich will present two courses during the convention.

The first session, titled “Peaceful Leaders and Retaining Employees,” will begin at 1:15 p.m. Nov. 12. The session is included in the fixed operations track.

During the session, Jeckovich will teach the Peaceful Leadership model. The model recognizes that to retain leaders, all company members should feel appreciated, encouraged, included and safe.

Attendees will learn:

  • How to recognize and reduce “quiet quitting.”
  • Techniques to help team members feel seen, heard and valued.
  • What it means to be a Peaceful Leader and how this will help retain top employees.

Her second session at 11:30 a.m. Nov. 14 is titled “De-Escalation Interactive Workshop: A Deep Dive.” The two-hour session is in the fixed operations education track.

Attendees will learn:

  • A communication framework for conflict resolution to minimize escalation and risk.
  • How to self-regulate and respond with empathy in stressful situations.
  • Increase escalation awareness and identify underlying root causes.
  • Establish positive communication with customers/clients/vendors.
  • Important de-escalation skills to use in stressful situations or a crisis.
