Motorhome values spiked to $62,600 this month at wholesale auctions, according to Black Book’s RV Market Commentary for February 2024.

The report recorded motorhome values in December 2023 increasing by $8,704 compared with November 2023. The jump marks a difference in motorhome values’ downward trend since mid-2022. One year ago, the average motorhome sold for $73,411, a 14.7% increase over December 2023 levels.

As motorhome values increased, towable values in December 2023 decreased by $417 compared with November 2023, landing at $17,877. One year ago, the average towable sold for $19,182, 6.8% more than December 2023 values.

The wholesale auction volume were mixed as motorhomes decreased by 6.7% while towables increased by 14.7%. The average motorhome model year was 2015 and the towable average model year was 2019.

Black Book Specialty Vehicles Principal Automotive Analyst Eric Lawrence said, “This is the sixth straight month of declines for towables, and although motorhomes went up, their overall trend since mid-2022 has been downward. Spring is right around the corner, and the general outlook after many of the recent RV shows has been positive and upbeat.”
