RV wholesale values increased across the board in March, according to this month’s Black Book report.
Motorized units saw a $3,875 increase and towables were up $1,450 compared with February’s average selling prices.
“The values of used RVs sold at wholesale auctions rose across the board last month,” Black Book Principal Analyst of Specialty Markets Eric Lawrence said. “This is the time of year we usually expect prices to start rising, as dealers actively begin restocking their lots to be ready when their first customers start to arrive.”
The average motorhome selling price came in at $62,967, a 6.5% increase from the previous month. One year ago, that average was $47,454, an increase of 32.7% from March 2020.
“Given the current popularity of RVs, the spring surge is more pronounced than usual,” Lawrence said, “leading to all-time record prices in each of the segments we track.”
On the towables side, average selling price jumped 7.1% to $21,821. That price was $14,834 one year ago, an increase of 47.1% from March 2020.
Auction volume was up for all market segments, Black Book reported. Motorized units saw a 19.2% jump, while towables were up 9.1% from the previous month.
