Blue Compass RV will replace one of the company’s four regional presidents in June.
Jim Humble, former Cousins RV president who joined Blue Compass after selling his dealership group in 2020, will retire in June after 31 years in the RV industry.
Justin Slusser, Sonny’s Camp-N-Travel general manager for 15 years before selling the dealership to Blue Compass in 2019, will become Blue Compass’ Mountain West Region President effective June 1. Slusser has been a general manager and market vice president at Blue Compass since joining the company.
Blue Compass President and CEO Jon Ferrando wished Humble and his family the best upon his retirement announcement.
“It has been a great run since you joined three years ago upon our acquisition of Cousins RV,” Ferrando said. “We have seen it all. Jim was instrumental in our growth in the Western United States and has been a key part of our leadership team, contributing in numerous ways to our success. Your deep connections and friendships across the industry with the number of people you’ve impacted are amazing.”
Humble said he made the decision to retire to spend more time with his family.
“This industry has been incredibly rewarding for me,” Humble said. “I am excited for Justin to step into his new role, and for all the opportunities that my team will have at Blue Compass RV in the future. That is important to me, as I have been blessed to work with great people for a long time in this industry.”
Slusser will oversee 16 Blue Compass RV stores across eight states in the Mountain West Region.
“Justin has done an exceptional job as a market leader in South Carolina, Georgia and Alabama, leading some of our fastest-growing stores at Blue Compass,” Ferrando said. “He is a talented sales leader with excellent product knowledge and an ability to develop talent.”
Slusser said he appreciated the opportunity to step up at the company.
He said, “I am excited to step into the leadership role with the team in the Mountain West Region.”
Blue Compass RV said Anthony Sahli would become the company’s Southeast Region President. Sahli most recently was a market vice president whose RV career began in 2012 at RV One.
Ferrando said, “Our talent bench is deep, and it is great to see so many leaders being promoted from within Blue Compass, which validates our significant investment in developing leaders.”
