Outdoorsy’s 2022 Labor Day Travel Trends Report found Labor Day weekend bookings up from a year earlier.
Outdoorsy reports 22% of bookings for this Labor Day are from repeat bookers —the highest repeat booking rate of any summer holiday, the company said. The average trip length this Labor Day weekend is six days.
RV travel demand remains unshakable, Outdoorsy said. Net bookings for Labor Day weekend are up 9% over this time last year. The average trip price on Outdoorsy has only gone up $5 from 2021, compared with a 40% increase in hotel prices, the company said.
Labor Day costs are cheaper than Fourth of July and Memorial Day costs. Labor Day trips priced at $229 compared with $251 a night for the Fourth of July and $234 a night for Memorial Day. The Labor Day rate is 4% higher than last year’s nightly cost for Labor Day travel.
The most popular vehicle length for Labor Day trips is 18-24 feet.

Outdoorsy’s data team reports 25% of travelers want to bring at least one child along. Number of children in those travel parties:

- One child: 8% of searches
- Zero children: 5.5% of searches
