Brunswick Corp. displayed its social and environmental responsibility through the Brunswick 2023 Sustainability Report. Brunswick is the parent company of Navico Group, a division of 18 mobile power systems brands, and Land ‘N’ Sea Distributing.
The company report said Brunswick reduced carbon emissions, energy consumption and water use compared with the previous year.
The 2023 report recorded a 6.3% improvement in Scope 1 and Scope 2 carbon emissions and an 8.2% improvement in Scope 3 carbon emissions, compared with the previous year.
Brunswick CEO Dave Foulkes said, “Sustainability is a critical part of our business strategy, and we recognize the responsibility we have as the global leader in the recreational marine industry to take care of our planet and our communities.”
The company reduced water consumption across facilities by 14% compared with the previous year.
Electricity use decreased at 56% of Brunswick facilities. Renewable energy accounted for less than half a percent of Brunswick’s total energy use. The company plans to increase its renewable energy by installing solar panels and launching other renewable energy projects within the next two years.
Compared with the previous year, at nine facilities, Brunswick reduced solid waste sent to landfills by 90%. The company has 22 facilities operating at near-zero waste landfill levels.
Brunswick’s total recordable incident rate was 62% better than the national average.
Brunswick donated nearly $1 million in the past year to non-profits and supported 100 scholarships for employees’ and dealers’ children.
