California RV manufacturers that want to opt-in to the new procedures for resolving lemon law disputes may do so on the state’s Department of Consumer Affairs Arbitration Certification Program website form.

California has three options for manufacturers to resolve lemon law disputes: opt-in to the new process and procedures established by Senate Bill 26 and Assembly Bill No. 1755, resolve claims using existing California Lemon Law statutes or elect to be certified through the Arbitration Certification Program.

RV manufacturers have until May 1 to decide whether to opt-in to Assembly Bill No. 1755 requirements.

Manufacturers that opt-in will be required to comply for five years. They then may opt-in again.

For instructions on how to opt-in, visit the California Department of Consumer Affairs’ website.
