Brad Scott, co-founder of Scott Motor Coach Sales in Toms River, New Jersey, is in the process of selling his dealership to Campers Inn RV. The transaction is scheduled to close by the end of the year.
Scott Motor Coach was established in 1986 in Lakewood, New Jersey, and moved in 2019 to a 10-acre property in Toms River. The 25,000-square-foot facility includes 11 service bays.
Campers Inn CEO Jeff Hirsch commended Scott Motor Coach’s market reputation, specifically pointing to customer satisfaction, workplace satisfaction and strong manufacturer relationships.
“Add to those aspects that it is in a market that Campers Inn RV does not currently operate,” Hirsch said, “and it is an ideal addition to our network of stores.”
Brad Scott, co-founder of Scott Motor Coach Sales, said his retirement and decision to sell created a dilemma.
“Who do I sell to?” Scott said. “Who would be a good match for my dealership, my employees and my customers? How do I contact them? And if I sell, I want the new owners to take care of my customers and employees the way I do.”
The sale was facilitated by Performance Brokerage Services, a high-volume North American dealership brokerage firm.
“Rarely, do we have the privilege of working with such honorable and integral gentlemen on both sides of a transaction,” said Jesse Stopnitzky, partner at Performance Brokerage Services and the director of the RV Division. “As a family company ourselves, we understand the importance of a strong cultural fit between the principals, and Jeff and Ben Hirsch showed a genuine care and appreciation for the legacy that Brad Scott built.”
The dealership will remain at its current location at 2175 Route 9 in Toms River, New Jersey.
