Campers Inn RV, a family-operated RV dealership group, partnered with Care Camps, a national nonprofit that helps children with cancer attend special oncology camps. The partnership will provide support to Care Camps through a Campers Inn giving initiative.

The employee giving and corporate match program enables Campers Inn RV employees to donate any amount to Care Camps and the dealership group will start by matching employee donations dollar-for-dollar. As the partnership develops, Campers Inn intends to expand the giving program in 2022.

Jeff Hirsch, president and CEO of Campers Inn RV, said the program supports his company’s mission of helping others find their way in the outdoors. In addition, the program aligns with Campers Inn RV’s goal of supporting its dealerships’ communities.

“This giving program provides our employees the opportunity to share in the pride and enjoyment that comes along with making a difference in the life of others,” Hirsch said. “I am honored that Campers Inn is able to support this cause and give back to those who will truly benefit from the healing power of nature.”

Care Camps funds more than 135 oncology camps in the U.S. and Canada to help children with cancer and their families find hope and healing in the great outdoors. A grant from Kampgrounds of America (KOA) covers all the administrative costs, allowing 100% of all other donations for the nonprofit to go directly to supporting clients.

Jennifer Mercer, Care Camps’ director of development, said Campers Inn and Jeff and Deby Hirsch have shown their passion for making a difference in children’s lives.

“It inspired them to launch Care Camps’ first-ever employee giving contest with their team,” Mercer said, “which resulted in an incredible outpouring of pride and excitement from their employees.”

Mercer thanked Campers Inn RV employees and executives for the donations.

“Every gift from their employees will have twice the impact for kids with cancer and their families,” she said, in reference to the matching program.

The Hirsch family initially launched its relationship with Care Camps by hosting a golf tournament charity fundraiser in Elkhart, Indiana, during the RV/MH Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony in August 2021. The tournament raised more than $17,000 for Care Camps. To partner with Care Camps, go to CareCamps.org or email [email protected].
