The Canadian Recreational Vehicle Association (CRVA) recorded a 10.8% year-over-year increase in Canadian RV wholesale shipments during the 2024 second quarter.

Shipments totaled 9,221 in the quarter, compared with 8,326 in the 2023 second quarter.

While shipments are up, RV dealer inventory is decreasing. According to Statistical Surveys, Inc., RVDA of Canada reported second-quarter retail activity totaled 13,045 RV sales. The number drastically exceeds the quarter’s shipment totals.

CRVA said, “We consider this an unusual trend, as dealers typically would restock and order inventory historically approaching the summer, especially after a strong retail period.”

The association said dealers were conservative about inventory because of broader economic factors.

CRVA said it expects inventory and stocking levels to realign with historical quarterly trends as the economy stabilizes and forecasted interest rate reductions are enacted.
