RVDA and 12 other industry partners sent a letter this week to U.S. House Energy and Commerce Committee Chairman Frank Pallone (D-N.J.) and Ranking Member Cathy McMorris Rodgers (R-Wash.) in support of a bipartisan bill to combat rising catalytic converter theft in the U.S.
The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) published its notice renewing the exemption from the Class A and B commercial driver’s license (CDL) requirements for newly produced RVs transport until April 6, 2027. The renewal is retroactive to April 6, 2022.
On May 3, the same day the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee passed the first recreation package, the Outdoor Recreation Roundtable (ORR) and its members released a video highlighting outdoor recreation activities and the outdoor recreation economy.
In late December, the Washington Department of Labor and Industries filed an emergency rule aimed at addressing a severe labor shortage in the Factory Assembled Structure RV and Park Model RV plan approval program. That emergency rule has been extended through Aug. 17.
Outdoor Recreation Roundtable (ORR) celebrates Secretary Tom Vilsack’s announcement that the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) is investing nearly $800 million in climate-smart infrastructure across 40 states and several U.S. territories. The investments will support better access to safe water and/or clean energy for disadvantaged communities.
Nebraska Gov. Pete Ricketts signed into law RVIA-backed legislation enabling larger fifth wheel trailer plans to be approved by the state Public Service Commission and sold by state RV dealers.
Lobbying efforts from industry trade groups such as RVIA led the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative (USTR) to reinstate tariff exclusions in trade with China.
Fully funding fiscal 2022 appropriations will unlock access to new programs and additional funding from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Bill that were awaiting appropriations.
RVIA’s team worked with the Interior Department on projects to impact RVers including a project in Great Smoky Mountain National Park.
Lichtsinn RV joined a statewide coalition to end human trafficking in Iowa.
ORR submitted comments to the Tourism Policy Council and International Trade Administration on a national travel and tourism strategy.
