Chilly SuperShow Sees ‘Big Crowds’

The Florida RV Trade Association (FRVTA) opened the 36th annual 2021 Florida RV SuperShow Jan. 13 to what the association said were big crowds.

Although attendance was down from previous record-setting years, the more than 10,000 attendees were “serious shoppers,” the association stated. Unseasonably cold weather, with temperatures in the 50s all day, and overcast skies slowed down the crowd, FRVTA said.

The 2021 SuperShow debut hundred of accessory booth exhibitors and major representation from RV manufacturers. Florida’s campgrounds and resorts will have booth exhibits in the show’s following days, along with a camping accessories and supplies display.

“To say this has been a challenging year is an understatement,” Executive Director David Kelly stated. “Attendees and exhibitors have been thanking us for moving ahead with the show. While attendance might be a little off this year, I think we’re going to see strong sales.”

The show’s theme is “Good Clean Fun!”, a phrase chosen by the association to highlight the safety of traveling on wheels.

FRVTA issued attendee temperature checks with masks required inside the buildings and RVs.

“RVers are the most considerate, friendly people in the world, and that showed in how much they all respected each other yesterday,” Kelly said.

The SuperShow hours are 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. EST Jan. 14-16, and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. EST Jan. 17.
