Coachlight RV, a dealership in Carthage, Missouri, recently held a five-day technical training certification program. Coachlight Vice President Doug Lown closed the dealership’s service department for the entire training duration.
RV Technical Institute (RVTI) Education Director Bill Stewart taught the program.
Over the five days, the dealership’s service technicians, parts manager, warranty manager and service manager took RVTI’s level 1 training certification program. The students’ experience ranged from novice to some previous training.
The dealership once employed six Master-certified technicians, but they retired. In-house training is helping the company to fill the training gap.
Employees will receive bonuses every year they are certified.
Coachlight RV was founded in 1968 by Lown’s father, Martin Lown. The dealership is part of the Route 66 RV Network. Coachlight RV has 14 service bays.
