Ken Millard founded Aries Engineering in 2002 to install his Gold Heat product in Type A diesel motorhomes. Gold Heat is an electric, radiant heating mat product installed underneath tile.
“We needed an RV with an engine and chassis stout enough to pull all the heavy tile around,” said Brian Bishop, Aries Engineering CEO. Today, the company has more than a 70 percent market share of Type A diesel motorhomes.
Though Gold Heat remains the OEM supplier’s most popular product, it more recently released Black Gold, a similar product installed under lighter flooring. Bishop said Aires Engineering is not planning on expanding into the aftermarket. Rather, the supplier is building a network of remodelers to work with in the future.
The company is working on installing Gold Heat in a few Type B motorhomes. It is also expanding into the tiny house industry, as well as into residential, construction and hospitality markets.
