King is responsible for making Dish and DirecTV’s first universally compatible satellite antenna in 1998. Today, the Wi-Fi, satellite and antenna systems supplier continues to partner with both providers.
An avid RVer, Leo King wanted satellite TV on his motorhome. So, he founded King in 1985 as an electronic vehicle systems maker.
King is full of industry firsts, creating the first self-contained portable satellite antenna in 2006, and its automatic version two years later. The company is credited with the first digital over-the-air antenna with built-in signal finder, the first receiver controlled satellite antenna, and several other innovations involving Bluetooth, directional Wi-Fi and mounting options.
King’s internal customer service team talks directly to anyone who calls the company. Every product is tested before being shipped from the Bloomington, Minnesota, facility. Less than 2 percent of product shipped out of King’s headquarters has to go back.
