Bob Moore Sr. branched out from the family dry cleaning business as the RV industry was booming in Elkhart, Indiana. He started making RV trailer suspension systems with 25 employees. In 1966, Moore founded MORryde International, named after his surname and the company’s first suspension product.
MORryde International expanded its product offerings by starting a metal fabrication operation in the 1990s. The supplier’s customers kept asking about metal fabricated products, so the supplier bought a few second-hand machines. The next customer request was for chassis modification and uplifts, to which MORryde complied.
Today, MORryde makes RV, Jeep and transit bus products and accessories at its various facilities and employs more than 1,000 workers over 900,000 square feet. Bob Moore Sr.’s sons, Rodney and Bob Moore Jr., now lead MORryde.
