Motility Software, formally Sys2K, was founded in 1984 to serve dealers with its MS-DOS Accounting system and develop better software solutions. Two years later, the supplier built an RV DMS solution, sparking the company’s popularity in the industry.
In 1994, Ford Motor Corporation contracted Sys2K to develop an interface link from its MS-DOS for the FordStar satellite. A year later, Microsoft contacted Sys2K to create the industry’s first Windows-based DMS solution.
At the turn of the millennium, Sys2K expanded even more so into the automotive market. The supplier received communication certifications from Ford, GM and Chrysler and acquired Coast’s Retail Connection.
With emerging new technology, Sys2K has released a driver license scanning system, a wireless physical inventory scanning interface for Bell Industries and NTP, and an iPhone inventory scanning app in 2011. In 2013, Sys2K released mobile apps for dealerships on the go and launched a Cloud storage system.
The company entered a partnership with private equity firm Serent Capital in 2018, effectively becoming Motility Software Solutions.
