Fred Richman started Richloom Fabrics Group in 1957 with a little experience from his dad’s textile business and a $5,000 loan from his father-in-law. Richman today serves as President Emeritus at his store’s headquarters on Fifth Avenue in New York City.
Fred Richman’s son Jim started working at Richloom Fabrics in 1972 and today leads the company. In 1997, COO Michael Saivetz, Jim Richman’s nephew, joined the company and led its global expansion with Richloom Shanghai Trading company in China.
Now in six countries, Richloom ships worldwide. The fabric converter and mill provides print, woven, embroidered and decorative textiles to the upholstery, hospitality, retail and RV industries.
