Truck System Technologies (TST) was founded in Cummings, Georgia in 2007, the same year that tire pressure monitoring systems (TPMS) started being required on cars. This national legislation increased awareness among RVers, though TPMS was not yet mandated outside the automotive industry.

TST’s first tire pressure and temperature monitoring system was a sensor that screwed onto tire valves and used radio frequency to display data in a vehicle’s cab. Now, TST also offers internal wheel sensors that set off an alarm if pressure or temperature is irregular.

San Antonio, Texas-based Pressure Systems International (PSI), an automatic tire inflation supplier in the commercial trucking industry, used TST’s products on its fleets. After five years as a customer, PSI bought the company in 2017. When TST started selling well at RV rallies, the two companies saw an opportunity to shift from aftermarket to OEM sales. Truck System Technologies’ first OEM product was an internal sensor on a steel band around the wheel rim, something difficult to install in the aftermarket.

In 2019, Forest River’s Palomino Columbus, Rockwood, Flagstaff and other brands started including TST’s TPMS systems in their units. This is the first instance, as far as TST is aware, of a major manufacturer’s towable product having OEM TPMS.
