Wayne Kaylor and James L. Conway started Way Interglobal in 2009. Kaylor, who had previously been in RV appliance and electronics distribution, had several OEM clients. He started the company by providing LG appliances and Hiesense and Proscant TVs.
Kaylor and Tom Halbert, a member of the marketing team, started thinking about how to make RV refrigerators better. So Way Interglobal started making their own. At the time, LP gas refrigerators were not energy efficient, so the new company manufactured its own electronics and appliances under brands Everchill, Greystone and Drive.
After almost three years of developing the Everchill refrigerator line, the company’s engineering team was finally ready to reveal the industry’s first 12-volt compressor and refrigerator platform. After receiving OEM input, Way Interglobal tweaked the product to withstand extreme RV temperature changes and possible voltage fluctuations.
In 2017, the supplier moved to Coast Distributing’s former Elkhart, Indiana building. The 115,000-square-foot building has 17 shipping and receiving docks. Two years later, Kaylor sold part of the company to private equity firm Next Sparc. Besides Way Everchill, other Way Interglobal brands include Way Greystone cooking appliances and fireplaces, Way Drive electronics, Way Haven for RV furnishings and fixtures, and Way Elite for other RVing essentials.
