Nelson’s Family Campground and its associated businesses — Gustine’s RV Sales & Service, Nelson’s Court and Wolf’s Den Family Campground — were purchased by Castle Park Investments, effective immediately. The Gustine family — Glenn, Michele and Bruce — made the announcement Feb. 7 on Facebook.

“We have been fortunate to welcome thousands of customers including you to our camping family over the decades and the memories of all those years will always be dear to our hearts,” posted the Gustine family. “Our long and successful history has been due, in no small part, to our wonderful guests.”

The service center, in East Hampton, Connecticut, features three service bays and mobile service technicians. The center also sells new Hy-Line park trailers and various used RVs.

The businesses are in Connecticut’s Central River Valley. Nelson’s Family Campground has been in operation since 1964 by the Gustine family and offers 175 acres of recreation.

The family called Castle Park Investments’ team “the epitome of professionalism” and said the group is committed to the long-term success of the businesses.

“They are looking forward to working with all of you this year to ensure that your camping experiences create even more great memories,” the family wrote.

“With any large transition such as this one, there are inevitably questions and matters unique to each customer’s situation,” the Gustines said. “There will be more communication in the coming weeks about any individual matters.”
