Fresno, California-based RV Country presented 13-year-old Brennan Reny and his family with a 2021 Prime Time Avenger 16BH travel trailer this week. The donation was made through the Adopt-A-Wish program of Make-A-Wish of Northeastern & Central California and Northern Nevada.
The travel trailer will enable Merced, California’s Brennan Reny and his family, including five siblings, to enjoy camping and his favorite outdoor activities. The family’s previous pop-up trailer was damaged in 2020, limiting the family’s experiences since.
“It was a very special day for Brennan, his family and the RV Country team members,” said RV Country President Curt Curtis. “Our employees wholeheartedly embraced the opportunity to fulfill this wish for Brennan with energy and creativity.”
Spearheaded by RV Country employees in Fresno and Sparks, fundraising for the travel trailer included donations from vendors and manufacturers and a variety of grassroots efforts, including an ice cream social, sales of candy bars, custom RV Country mugs, drawings for parts and gift certificates, employee payroll deductions and a GoFundMe campaign.
The employee effort raised $12,240 and was matched by the company, Curtis said.
Brennan Reny was born prematurely at 27 weeks as a triplet – one brother passed away and his other brother survived. Brennan has been diagnosed with a heart condition, cerebral palsy and autism. Though he is non-verbal and has endured multiple surgeries and medical procedures, the family said he is resilient and happy, and especially loves the outdoors and camping at local lakes.
