Tomorrow members of the Greater Elkhart Chamber staff and chamber members will travel to Indianapolis to hear about and discuss the current legislative session. Other Chambers from around the state will be there on behalf of their members as well.
Among other legislation that will be discussed is House Bill 1059 related to sales tax on RVs. The bill was authored by Rep. Doug Miller and co-authored by Rep. Robert Cherry, Rep. Jack Jordan and Rep. Christy Stutzman. Current sponsors include Sen. Blake Doriot, Sen. Mark Messmer, Sen. Linda Rogers and Sen. James Buck.
The proposed bill deals with sales tax on certain transactions involving RVs or cargo trailers that occur after June 30, 2025.
