Elkhart, Indiana-based Griffin Trailer will offer ASA Electronics control system as an option on all the manufacturer’s models.
The electronics supplier’s iN-Command trailer system will enable owners to control key functions, such as hydraulic lift features and light checks, from their smartphone.
“Trailer owners are used to having smart technology in everything they do,” said Jeff Gray, ASA Electronics’ VP of the trailer division. “They already have it on their tow vehicles and now they want that same functionality on their trailer. We are excited to be working with the Griffin team to make those expectations a reality.”
The manufacturer added more smartphone functions, including the iN-Command Tire Pressure Monitoring Systems (TPMS) and the Voyager Vision transmitter. iN-Command TPMS allows trailer owners to receive customized alerts for air pressure and temperature. The Voyager Vision transmitter relays the image from a wired observation camera directly to the Voyager Vision app, eliminating a need for additional tow vehicle monitoring.
“We want to make sure our customers are getting everything they want and need from our trailers,” Griffin Trailer VP Kyle Griffin said. “It seemed obvious to us that, if this technology is available, we want to add it as an option.”
