27 North, a manufacturer providing type B adventure vans and trucks, is adding another member to its fleet. The company’s new expedition truck, Trekker, is set to launch in April.
27 North founder and CEO Pavel Bosovik said he wanted to meet the needs of consumers seeking a light, off-road vehicle. He said the market is shifting towards smaller adventure vehicles, and 27 North can expand its product line.
Bosovik said, “Our company is finally at a point where our Type B line is set up and streamlined and we are ready to launch a new project.”
27 North partnered with a boat manufacturer to supply a one-piece, carbon-fiber-infused aluminum shell for Trekker’s interior.
“Being one piece, there are no seams, no trims,” Bosovik said. “It is essentially eliminating all the flaws of traditional expedition trucks.”
Bosovik said Trekker is 20% to 50% lighter than its competition. The truck is 25 feet long. Trekker holds over 100 gallons of water and fuel.
Trekker has amenities including a wet bath, kitchen and king-sized bed with 42 inches of headroom.
“My spouse and I love going on really off-grid trails,” Bosovik said. “We can do all these things without sacrificing any of the amenities.”
27 North plans to host a Trekker launch party in mid-April at its facility in Springfield, Missouri. Bosovik invites dealers and other industry members to attend.
27 North offers type B adventure vans on a Mercedes Sprinter 170 chassis. The Venture and Venture Together vans are offered in three floorplan models. The manufacture has three expedition truck lines in the Type C market: Rexrover, Ascender and now Trekker.

Before starting 27 North, Bosovik owned an RV dealership in Springfield, Missouri, called The RV Firm. His inspiration for leaving the RV dealer world to become a manufacturer came from an elderly couple who bought an RV despite only having three years of good health left. After the purchase, the man accidentally spilled coffee on the cabinets and countertops, damaging the interior. Bosovik said a new RV would be 18 months backordered and 20% more expensive, so he needed to find a solution.
Bosovik said he realized he could manufacture RVs like boats, cars and airplanes, making them more durable for longer periods of time.
“We are in the modern age,” Bosovik said. “It is the 21st Century, and we have to be using modern day advanced manufacturing.”
Bosovik said he bought a few Type B vans, fitted out the inside and 27 North was born.
“We built out the inside like a luxury condo yacht vibe,” Bosovik said. “We posted it online and it went viral. We had 40 orders within our first month, and the rest is history.”
