Airstream hosted its annual dealer awards dinner Wednesday night. By the end of the awards, Blue Compass RV was the talk of the town.
For the fifth consecutive year, Airstream of Tampa—a Blue Compass RV store—was named Airstream’s top overall dealer. The Tampa location was the top-selling travel trailer dealership and Blue Compass RV was named Airstream’s top dealer group.
Blue Compass RV President and CEO Jon Ferrando said his team couldn’t be more fired up after the awards.
“For Blue Compass RV, this is a special night,” Ferrando said. “I am super proud of our entire team. It was really capped off by this team in Tampa being named the No. 1 Airstream dealer in the world for the fifth consecutive year.”
Ferrando congratulated the Airstream dealer body on its performance and awards, saying the dealers challenged Blue Compass stores to improve daily.
“We are not content to rest on the status quo,” Ferrando said. “I know no other dealers in this room are as well. We are all driven to push the boundaries, innovate and continue to lead the way in the RV industry.”
Among Airstream’s other awards, former Airstream Adventures owner Ted Davis was presented the Airstream Visionary Award. Davis brought a bicycle ridden in charity events for child abuse prevention centers and in support of cancer research. The bicycle will be donated to Airstream’s Heritage Museum. In addition, Airstream Adventures will make a $10,000 donation to the museum.
“I have been inspired by Airstream,” Davis said, “and I honestly never thought I would be standing in front of so many of you who have led before me and carried the Airstream torch, and then looking at the new generation—standing in front of so many of you who will carry the torch long after I’m no longer standing on the stage.”
Besides Blue Compass RV, Colonial Airstream in New Jersey was the other big awards winner. The dealership was named the top dealership in Touring Coach sales, the top Touring Coach dealer in the East and was second among travel trailer dealers in the East.
Airstream of Mississippi, Foley RV, was named the top dealer in service. Airstream of New Mexico was second, followed by Boise Airstream Adventures in Idaho.
Woodland Airstream of Grand Rapids, Michigan, was named the top parts dealer.
