The Dealership Insights (DI) Forum hosted by Integrated Dealer Systems (IDS) discusses solutions to challenges faced in many dealerships. Dealers gather together to navigate daily dealership dilemmas in a monthly online meeting.
On April 26, the first forum addressed repair event cycle time (RECT) and warranty challenges. IDS Consultant Don Miller hosted the forum with Bob Scholl of Rocky Mountain RV and Marine in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Dealers brainstormed solutions to reducing job days, the period between when technicians begin service work to when the RV service is complete. Proposals included diagnosing the problem before consumers arrived via text, call or email. Pre-stocking parts was another suggestion.
The second session topic, May 24, covered the parts department. Dealers brainstormed ways to refine dealers’ parts procurement processes. Suggestions included analyzing the parts process. Dealers proposed creating a checklist for technicians and administrators to ensure the accurate parts are ordered.

With two sessions concluded since the forums’ debut, IDS is refining the monthly gatherings to meet dealer needs.
The company received feedback that dealer employees preferred to meet Wednesdays instead of Fridays. The forum will now commence at 11:30 a.m. ET on the fourth Wednesday of each month.
The upcoming session Wednesday, June 26 is titled “Starting Service Off on the Right Foot.”
