Sicard RV HR Manager Nicole Serwatuk of Smithville, Ontario was awarded the inaugural George Goodrick Emerging Leader award at the Ontario RVDA Canada meeting in Collingwood today. About 60 people attended the annual meeting.
She was nominated by Dealer Principal Blair Sicard.
Award nominees were considered based on exceptional:
- Customer Service
- Impact
- Initiative
- Innovation
- Social Responsibility
RVDA Canada President Eleonor Hamm made the initial presentation. The award was given to Serwatuk by Ruth Ann Goodrick, George Goodrick’s widow. Goodrick’s daughters were also in attendance.
“Serwatuk embodies the criteria set up for the award itself,” Hamm said. “The customer service aspect, her impact, and innovation were some of the things that stood out. She does a lot of volunteering as well… she is a well-rounded individual with a very strong application.”
Serwatuk started at Sicard RV in human resource management. Her role expanded over her five years at the dealership. She now oversees training and development. She helped implement cloud-based CRM dealer management software that enabled the dealership to stay open during the pandemic, Hamm said.
“She ensures dealership employees pursue career development regardless of the sector they are in,” Hamm said. “The selection committee ranked that very highly.”
The George Goodrick Emerging Leader award was created in honor of late RVDA Canada chairman George Goodrick. Goodrick was the owner of Adventure Sports RV in Nova Scotia. He was awarded the Walter Paseska Memorial Canadian RV Dealer of the Year Award in 2016 for his professionalism and community spirit. He served on the RVDA Canada Board from 2008 to 2017. He was RVDA Canada Chairman of the Board in 2015.
“I am sure it will be an emotional presentation because we all worked very closely with George. We want to keep his legacy going,” Hamm said in advance of the ceremony.
