One line of Grand Design’s Transcend Xplor travel trailers was not enough. The company grasped the opportunity to meet diverse consumer needs with its latest Transcend Xplor line introductions.

The Transcend Xplor brand transformed into three different segments, the Transcend One, the Transcend Xplor and Transcend. Each 2025 model fills specific consumer needs and expectations.

Transcend Product Manager Matt Eppers said, “Due to what we are seeing in the marketplace, and with inflation hitting all Americans, I think what is more important than ever is offering quality-built, affordable products that a multitude of families can afford.”

The travel trailers will have lower GVWRs, so consumers may not need to own a truck to haul the RVs. Weights will range from under 5,000 pounds dry to 10,000 pounds.

To maintain quality and lower weight, the manufacturer built the Xplor and Transcend One models with lighter .024-inch exterior metal rather than its previous .030-inch metal. The Transcend is built with 0.030-inch metal. All 2025 Transcend models also receive a tough coat paint to protect the exterior.

The segments vary in price and towability. The Transcend One are new single-axle RVs with a GVWR under 5,000 pounds.

Transcend Xplor is an updated version of the original Xplor travel trailer. The tandem-axle floorplans will have one or no slide outs and measure less than 30 feet in length. The vehicles will have GVWRs under 8,000 pounds.

The third segment is the Transcend model. These towables have the highest price point, with GVWRs between 8,000 and 10,000 pounds. The floorplans include single, double and triple slide-out options.

Various features will remain consistent across all brands.

All segments will include solar power, featuring prep for 600 watts of solar panels, a 30-amp solar controller prep and a 2,000-watt inverter prep. Grand Design wired its inverter prep to connect to multiple outlets in the RV rather than only one.

“So, if our customers do want to get off the grid and not camp at a site with hookups,” Eppers said, “they have the opportunity to do so.”

Eppers said Grand Design consumers often travel with pets. More than 64% of American RVers travel with dogs, according to Kampgrounds of America’s 2024 Camping & Outdoor Hospitality Report.

To accommodate pet owners, the manufacturer implemented features such as pet food and water bowls set upon a sliding drawer. On the exterior, a leash link doubles as a bottle opener.

Music will vibrate inside and outside the models with a JBL sound system featuring interior and exterior speakers. The manufacturer eased kitchen use with paper towel holders and magnetic door catches in each towable.

True 60-inch by 80-inch queen-sized beds are standard in each segment.

Eppers said consumers expressed a desire for a folding camp table. Grand Design will include a Grand Design-branded fold-up table with dedicated storage.

Transcend One

In June, Grand Design revealed the 2025 Transcend One model. The manufacturer implemented vast living space in the towable such as a queen-sized bed and a 13,500 BTU Furrion air conditioner. Bedrooms include a nook to store C-Pap machines, electronics or books.

The towable includes wet/dry bath (w/toilet if need be).

The towable is built on an 8-foot-wide Norco frame with a 1.5-inch receiver hitch rated at 150 pounds. The Transcend One includes a heated, enclosed underbelly and pass-through storage.

Eppers said, “We understand again that when you are camping, you take a lot of stuff with you, so we want to maximize exterior and interior storage.”

Transcend Xplor

The manufacturer introduced the dual-axle travel trailer after the company’s July 4th shutdown.

The travel trailer’s kitchen features pull-out trash can storage and a dedicated, oversized pots and pans drawer located beneath the cooktop’s range burners.

The bedroom features folding and hanging storage and a nook similar to the Transcend One’s.

Transcend

The Transcend was also introduced after the holiday shutdown. Each floorplan includes a standard exterior kitchen and a bedroom laundry chute. The chute is connected to the pass-through storage, where the laundry is stored until consumers are ready to remove it.

The kitchen also includes a dedicated pots and pans drawer. Transcend floorplans include an exterior kitchen equipped with a cast iron griddle and a 110-volt, 1.7 cubic-foot mini refrigerator.

Eppers said, “What excites me is getting a customer into the Grand Design family of products at an earlier purchase point than I think we have ever seen historically.”
