Nestled in Boyden, Iowa, Demco’s new facility, the Demco Educating Professionals and On-Site Training (Depot), provides customizable, in-person training sessions.
The towing supplier opened the Depot next to its heritage center last summer to provide dealers and partners with hands-on training.
Demco Product Marketing Specialist Elijah Vande Griend said, “Having the opportunity for people to come here and see what we do is really what the Depot encompasses.”
According to Vande Griend, the company’s partners value connecting with a Demco employee over a phone call rather than a machine.
“We wanted to bring that experience to the training realm,” he said. “We wanted to bring it to light in which we could bring people in, and they can experience our people, as well as get training.”
The supplier will host RV Technical Institute (RVTI) Level 3 curriculum training for RV technicians pursuing a master certification. Customer service and product coordinator employees lead training sessions. Dealers can collaborate with Demco to create a personalized program for their visit. The facility has a classroom and an open space for demonstrations and immersive product training.
Lodging arrangements are not necessary because of Demco’s 12 overnight rooms, full kitchen and office spaces.
Before the facility opened during the summer, the supplier conducted training through webinars and territory manager training, conducted at dealerships. While these training options are still accessible, the Depot is another item on the supplier’s education menu.
Vande Griend said, “It has done what we have hoped, (which) is echo our people and show you who Demco is as a company.”
To plan a training trip, dealers are invited to contact Demco.
