Carterville, Illinois-based RV dealer Kampers Supply will celebrate its 50th anniversary at its annual open house.
Kampers Supply was established in 1975 by Marv and Shirley Oetjen. The couple said they wanted to share their joy of camping with the community. Marv and Shirley, along with their son Curt, his wife Chris, son John and his wife Angie, contribute to the daily operations of the store.
“Offering the best products in the industry along with superior service, we live what we sell, and we stand behind our products and service,” Marv Oetjen said.
As a celebration of Kampers Supply’s accomplishments, the open house will feature presentations from vendors, special guests and exclusive deals on a variety of parts and accessories. Light refreshments will be available, and door prizes will be distributed throughout the event.
Marv Oetjen said the business has been successful for 50 years because of its customer satisfaction.
“Our customers are very satisfied, they are happy with our work and they keep coming back,” Oetjen said. “We have a real quality customer base and a real quality customer following.”
Kampers Supply has won numerous awards from suppliers for being a top-selling dealer. The Carterville Chamber recognized Kampers Supply as the Business of the Year. Additionally, the dealer was recognized as the top RV dealer in the WSIL Viewers’ Choice Awards.
The open house will be held May 2-3. Oetjen said the events are always popular and a good way for the community to get together.
“A number of years ago when we were in sales, one of our sales reps came down to the open house,” Oetjen said. “He said he has done a number of open houses and has never [seen] a turnout like the one we had that year.”
