Lance Camper debuted its latest prototype camper and demonstration vehicle, together called the “Adventure Pass,” at the 2021 SEMA Show.
The build highlights Lance’s new “Enduro” concept travel trailer. The 18-foot travel trailer is designed for backcountry adventure and travel to remote destinations.
Bob Rogers, Lance Camper’s director of marketing, said the trailer prototype has been eyed by company administrators over the past few years as a potential venture into adventure trailers.
“We have been looking at the teardrop market, the adventure trailer market for a few years now, in addition to participating at the overlander events with our truck campers for seven years,” Rogers said. “There is a really good niche market there for a durable, off-road trailer that is small enough to tow behind just about anything.”
Rogers said responses at the SEMA Show were “overwhelmingly” positive. He said individuals who are into overlanding with off-roading vehicles like Jeeps were particularly interested in Enduro’s low gross vehicle weight rating of 2,700 pounds.
The Enduro trailer features a U-shaped dinette, queen-size bed, twin dropdown bunks and can sleep up to six people when outfitted with an optional RoofNest rooftop tent.
The trailer can be fully self-sustainable for a boondocking or overlanding adventure. The trailer has two 100-watt solar panels, a 100-amp-hour lithium battery unit, a 45-gallon freshwater tank, a 25-gallon grey water tank, an interior shower, cassette-style toilet and an outdoor galley-style kitchen. The trailer is equipped with a 12-volt Zero Breeze Mark 2 air conditioner and Truma Eco Combi+ air and water heating system. Other Enduro features include a nodirtywater MRX water purification system, a weBoost cellular signal booster and a 23Zero Peregrine 180 Awning.
Rogers said Lance Camper is considering putting the Enduro into production if there are enough positive reactions at the SEMA Show. The company’s goal for the rest of 2021 is to catch up on backorders, Rogers said.
“We have got to get caught up with our core product. There is quite a backlog of that product — which is positive,” Rogers said. “We are focusing on keeping quality levels up and getting orders out the door.”
The Enduro was displayed in Las Vegas with an outfitted Volkswagen Atlas tow vehicle.
The Volkswagen Atlas and Lance Enduro will be on display at the 2021 SEMA Show in Las Vegas in the Lance Camper Mfg. Corp booth, No. 60167, at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
