After acquiring the RVibrake flat-towing operations in March, Lippert is transitioning RVibrake manufacturing and sales to its Curt towing brand.
A Lippert spokesman said the flat-towing products will be co-branded as Curt/RVI. RVI will be a sub-brand for flat-towing braking products under the Curt main brand.
When Danko Manufacturing owner Dan Decker sold the line to Lippert, he said the transition would take about eight months. The transition is underway, with manufacturing shifting from Colorado to Lippert’s state-of-the-art electrical plant in Juarez, Mexico. Lippert manufactures brake controls, including the Echo, at the Juarez plant.
The spokesman said some Danko Manufacturing employees have transitioned to Lippert.
For customers, the RVibrake sales model is transitioning to Curt’s current model. Once Lippert has enough new supply, the RVibrake will primarily be available through Lippert’s distribution channel.
Warranty repairs will transition to Lippert after July 1. Lippert is contacting current customers directly to ensure they can access new product versions when released in the second quarter.
Retailers interested in buying RVI products should contact their local Curt sales representative.
If retailers encounter consumers who bought directly online from Danko and need assistance, the spokesman said retailers should contact Curt’s technical services at 877-287-8634.
