Northern Wholesale Supply’s (NWS) Nick Gargaro Sr., who has been company president and CEO since 1984, will transition to the company’s board of directors.
Chad Smith has been named CEO. He began his role Wednesday.
“I am excited to join NWS and eager to get to know our team, suppliers and customers,” Smith said. “This is an exciting time for our business and industry, and I look forward to leveraging my experience to help us continue to grow and expand.”
NWS was sold to Wynnchurch Capital in January.
“We are fortunate to partner with Nick Gargaro and his team to continue to grow the NWS platform,” Wynnchurch Managing Partner John Hatherly said after the acquisition.
Smith has more than a decade of senior management experience. Most recently he was the general manager of the North American Aftermarket Business at BorgWarner. Before that, he served as general manager for Delphi Automotive’s European Aftermarket business.
Smith brings a strong background of strategic planning and execution, NWS stated, and a proven track record of growth and leadership in operations, supply chain, sales and marketing.
Smith has an undergraduate degree in Chemical Engineering from Georgia Tech and an Executive MBA from the University of Georgia.
