Sun rays shine on emerald fields and reflect off rolling lake waves. Hot dogs sizzle on portable grills and chocolate marshmallow mixtures ooze between graham crackers.
More than 45 million Americans plan to RV this summer. As the summer camping season begins, Go RVing will hold the third National Go RVing Day on June 8.
The RVIA coalition initiated the campaign to celebrate RVing among consumers and industry members.
RVIA spokesperson Monika Geraci said, “We really wanted to pick a day that we could all come together and celebrate RVing.”
The event’s inspiration came from campaigns tied to other national days. For example, on National Donut Day, some donut shops give away free donuts. The campaign creates an opportunity for dealers to tie promotions to RVing or expand outreach.
Go RVing provided dealers with a toolkit including social media graphics, icons, frames, newsletter copy, a sample timeline and information on securing local media coverage.
Geraci said the day is a “way to create excitement around your brand, but also bring the industry together.”
She said the campaign has grown each year.
The coalition will promote a tailored Go RVing Day campaign on social media platforms leading up to the event on Saturday.
