Amid an economy with cautious consumer trends, Cruiser RV Senior General Manager John Jones said the manufacturer had a mission to provide consumers with quality and functional products at an appealing price point.

Cruiser’s mission culminated in its MPG 2400PD and Shadow Cruiser 240RPD sister RVs, which debuted at Elkhart Extravaganza in September.

Jones said RVs are a sizable consumer investment and “we want to make sure that they (consumers) are getting their value out of their investment at Cruiser.”

Each model featured a rear patio deck with an outdoor entertainment and kitchen area. The 8-foot by 7-foot patio includes 70-inch TV prep, a quick-change disconnect for a grill connection, a countertop, a sink and a trash can.

Cruiser premiered an auto-leveling system on the laminated travel trailer models. Jones said the company integrated Lippert’s three-point leveling system to ease Cruiser consumers’ camping experience.

“The quicker you are set up at a campsite,” Jones said, “the more time that you get to enjoy with your friends and family.”

A single button push jump-starts the system. He said auto-leveling systems are often included in luxury travel trailers and motorhomes.

According to Jones, the aspect was positively received at Elkhart Extravaganza and at the 35th Annual Fall Detroit RV & Camping Show in Novi, Michigan, between Oct. 2 and Oct. 6.

He said, “We wanted to make sure that with our two laminates of MPG and Shadow Cruiser, we were 100% hitting what consumers are asking for.”

The manufacturer implemented numerous features, including a telescoping exterior handle, on-demand water heaters and upgraded furniture. The towables include a 30,000 BTU furnace and a 13,500 BTU air conditioner.

The kitchen includes a 10.7-cubic-foot, 12-volt residential Furrion glass refrigerator and a three-burner cooktop. Dimmable strip lighting now illuminates all Cruiser travel trailers.

The MPG and Shadow Cruiser models measure nearly 29 feet long and 8 feet wide. The couple’s coach includes a front bedroom with a king-sized bed and a full bathroom near the rear patio.

The double-axle, single slide out trailers ride on two 3,500-pound axles and have a 7,796 GVWR. The vehicle is equipped with 30-amp service and a converter.

Although the company made various refinements, Jones said Cruiser maintained last year’s price point.
