NSA RV, a maker of tow bars and braking systems, has unveiled its first fifth wheel hitch—the Zeus adjustable fifth wheel hitch.
With a 22,000-pound towing capacity, the hitch is the most adjustable hitch on the market, NSA said. It is not a slider hitch.
The hitch features six adjustable placements, or pocks, for the ball to enable smooth towing of a variety of truck sizes, the company said.
During development, NSA sent the hitch through laboratory testing and had customers test it as well, said NSA RV Products President Tod Westervelt.
“We extensively tested this product way beyond what it needed to be, until we had this phenomenal little product,” Westervelt said.
The hitch fits industry standard bed rails and is constructed entirely of steel. Many fifth-wheel hitches have parts made of aircraft aluminum, a material that is not as durable, Westervelt said.
The geometry of the hitch does not require as much steel as many products on the market, resulting in a lighter hitch, Westervelt said. The Zeus weighs 55 pounds and can be removed from a consumer’s truck bed and hung on a garage wall in one piece.
The hitch components are made in the U.S. and the hitches are manufactured in Kansas. The Zeus carries a lifetime warranty. The product MSRP is $1,099.
