Canadian specialty work platform supplier Easy Access Industrial Design has finished production on the company’s low-height mobile sturdy deck system and expects the deck’s first customer to begin using it this week.
Easy Access President Dan Visser said the idea for a lower, mobile platform came from a windmill energy company that needed a safe way for workers to access battery storage facilities. After seeing the finished deck, the company decided to offer it to RV service technicians who could find it useful.
“We found there is a place for this product in the RV maintenance industry … mainly for detailing sidewalls of RV units,” Visser said.
The platform has a perforated dimple, ant-slip deck and can be purchased at 20 or 30 inches wide. It is available in lengths up to 12 feet and may be connected to other decks. It also works with company’s Joe Scaffold 2.0 sturdy deck system.
Visser takes pride in improving safety for RV technicians and said the company is constantly developing. Each deck system on their website has a specific purpose, such as cleaning over hoods or accessing roof equipment. The mobile option is geared toward RV dealers.
“We are going to reach out to detailers who are looking for improved above-ground access, as opposed to using ladders or standard construction scaffolding. The benefit of this product is that is on wheels, it is double locking and will be able to be moved quickly around RV lots and service areas,” he said.
