When a concept works in one area, the idea often works in another area. Phones went from being corded to cordless. Radio DJs were replaced by personalized playlists.
WFCO Technologies is moving successful products into another segment. The supplier made aftermarket versions of two of its OE products. The company’s Power Pro control system and 5318 inverter have circulated the OE market for more than a year. The company’s aftermarket versions of both devices are available now.
Power Pro
WFCO launched Power Pro near the end of 2023. The control system monitors and manages RV components, including slide outs, lights and awnings. The system is voice-activated and controllable through a mobile app or a button-based hardwired control panel. For example, consumers can speak a pre-programmed command such as “Hey Power Pro…I’m home” in their RV or into their phone and the system will turn on all lights. Consumers can create custom modes to program water pump, water heater and lighting configurations.
The system has been so well-received that consumers asked to replace their RV’s original control system with Power Pro.
The supplier began providing aftermarket retailers with two Power Pro replacement kits this fall.
WFCO Aftermarket Sales Manager Mike Conway said the replacement is a “very quick upgrade, and a lot of times it is cheaper than just changing out the defective control pad.”
The kits require about two hours of labor, costing less than the average repair/replacement cost of the installed system. The supplier provides two kit options: the base system kit: WF-3510 Power Pro Control System and the expansion system kit: WF-3610 Power Pro Control System.
The base kit is suited for adventure trailers and travel trailers. The package includes controls for up to three slide outs, four dimmable light zones and two awnings. The system monitors battery levels and freshwater, grey water and black water tanks. Power Pro manages water pumps and water heaters.
The expansion kit manages the same systems as the base kit as well as tank heaters. The kit upgrades to managing five slide outs, two awnings and six lighting zones. The package is geared toward large vehicles such as fifth wheels.
Both systems include Power Pro’s proactive notifications, customizable settings and over-the-air updates.
WFCO debuted the kits at the Land ‘N’ Sea Distributing show in October. The company will continue to display the system through January’s aftermarket distributor shows.
At shows, the supplier displays the base kit connected to four lighting zones, an awning motor, a battery and a water heater/water pump.
Conway said, “Everyone I have talked to walks away impressed and very, very happy to see what all they can do with the Power Pro control system.”
5300 Series Inverters
The supplier’s WF-5300 Series inverters include abundant features.
Conway said, “We have garnered a huge response from dealers on how great of a product it is.”
The WF-5300 series inverters have the capacity to start and run a 15,000 BTU air conditioner.
The inverters feature multiple safeguards, including overload, temperature and miswiring protections. If alternating current (AC) output wires connect to AC input wires on many inverters, the entire device could be damaged. WFCO’s 5300 Series inverters block power passage when this happens. The inverter emits an audible alarm, alerting technicians of power blockage.
All WF-5300 series inverters come with a remote with power buttons. The remote displays the inverter status, inverter faults, AC voltage, AC watts, direct current (DC) amps, DC volts and DC watts.
The WF-5318 inverters entered the OE market around one and a half years ago. The 1,800-watt devices require a 15-amp breaker and can surge up to 3,600 watts.
The supplier introduced the WF-5320 inverter in the first quarter of 2025. The 2,000-watt device requires a 20-amp breaker and surges up to 4,000 watts.
According to Conway, the 5320 costs less than similar inverters. Conway attributes the cost reduction to savings realized through WFCO’s in-house engineering and manufacturing operations.
Both inverters made their aftermarket debut alongside the Power Pro replacement kits. Each inverter will be on display at 2025 distributor shows including Arrow Distributing’s Exhibitor Showcase, Jan. 7-8; NTP-Stag’s 2025 Expo, Jan. 20-21; and Foland Sales’ 2025 Aftermarket Show, Jan. 28-29.
Conway said the company will reveal additional product upgrades throughout 2025.
