EXCLUSIVE: Whisper-Quiet AC Transforms RV Cooling

Back in January, Lippert released a new take on the standard AC unit. The Furrion Chill Cube offers a quiet, power effective solution to staying cool.

Ember RV co-founder Chris Barth was an early adopter of the AC unit. He said he used competing units from Coleman, Dometic and Truma, but Furrion’s Chill Cube stood out from the rest.

“We are always looking for the next best thing in the space,” Barth said. “This one is going to be extremely hard to beat.”

The 18,000 BTU Chill Cube has a soft start feature, saving energy when the AC is turned on. The air conditioner features variable speed compressors, increasing cooling efficiency while minimizing sound.

Lippert Sr. Manager Ryan Bonnell said, “It truly is whisper quiet, and that is a big deal for folks.”

Lippert said the Chill Cube has a 30-degree temperature delta—the amount the air conditioner lowers the RV’s temperature by. The industry standard ranges between 17 and 20 degrees. The Chill Cube is available in some RVs today in cooling-only and heat pump models, for ducted and non-ducted applications.

The Chill Cube is available in three variations: ducted, non-ducted and with a heat pump. Lippert Director of Marketing, OEM Hannah Corn said Lippert had a Chill Cube display at the 2025 Florida RV Supershow.

“Consumers could walk inside and feel the difference, hear the difference and see the difference,” Corn said. “They were just amazed.”

Barth said the Chill Cube has been a hit with Ember customers and helped the company set itself apart from other manufacturers. The reduced sound and power-saving functions have drawn good responses.

“It will ramp up to a high-power consumption and then ramp back down in an optimized way,” Barth said. “We see it using dramatically less power.”

Barth said he found the air conditioner runs longer on batteries than any product Ember RV uses.

“I have run this AC off of 15-amp service with a plug into my garage,” Barth said. “It will perform without tripping the breaker.”

The Chill Cube’s ducted and non-ducted versions are currently available in the aftermarket.
