Expion360 Introduces New Lithium Storage Technology

Expion360, Inc. introduced a new 12-volt, 450-amp-hour e360 SmartTalk lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) battery.

The battery features cell technology that increases energy density by more than 32% compared with traditional 3.4-amp-hour 26650 cells.

The power behind the new product is a re-engineered 4.5-amp-hour 26650 lithium-ion cell encased in a specially designed cylindrical body. Expion360 was able to make this technological advancement by using a new proprietary anode/cathode design to increase the energy density by nearly a third while maintaining a cost, weight and size similar to traditional cells.

Expion360 President and Chief Operating Officer Paul Shoun said: “The introduction of this breakthrough advancement in lithium cell technology demonstrates our commitment to delivering leading-edge solutions for our customers and OEM partners. We believe offering more smart clean power in the same form factor provides us an important competitive advantage in our existing RV, overland, marine and golf markets.”

The new 450-amp-hour e360 SmartTalk battery features Expion360’s Bluetooth smart technology controlled by the new e360 SmartTalk app.

The new battery is the company’s second Bluetooth-enabled e360 SmartTalk battery to launch this year.

“We see our first two Bluetooth-enabled batteries as just the beginning of an expanding lineup of e360 SmartTalk-ready solutions that we anticipate being in high demand for both existing and future product applications,” Shoun said. “We expect the superior customer experience provided by these solutions to broaden our market reach, further strengthen customer loyalty and clearly stake out our competitive edge for new buyers.”

Expion360 expects to ship the new 450 Ah e360 SmartTalk battery in the first quarter of 2024 with pre-orders taken in the fourth quarter of 2023.
