RVIA’s Government Affairs team will host a federal policy webinar at 2 p.m. ET today. The webinar will cover the Generalized System of Preferences (GSP) and be led by Samantha Rocci, senior manager of government and political affairs.
According to RVIA, GSP is the longest-running U.S. trade preference program. Under the program, RV industry members could import specific products like Indonesian plywood, duty free.
Rocci will cover why retroactive GSP reauthorization is critical to the RV industry, RVIA said in materials describing the course.
The GSP program was not renewed in 2020, costing the RV industry more than $58 million over three years.
Two congressional committees conducted hearings with the U.S. Trade Representative Katherine Tai to discuss GSP renewal in late March.
