Fleetwood RV is launching a new line of Type B Mercedes-Benz motorhomes, a first for the legacy Type A manufacturer.

Fleetwood RV Product Manager Doug Miller said the new Xcursion-branded Type B offers travel flexibility and convenience to consumers, whether they are beginning their RV journey or downsizing from larger models. Xcursion’s smaller size is easier to store for many consumers than REV Group’s traditional offerings.

“Our end goal ultimately is that the right consumer finds the right product and really enjoys it for the life of their ownership,” Miller said. “And if we can create an environment in which they can do that, we feel that is successful.”

The model has four floor plans. The AL2 floorplan is built on a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 144-inch wheelbase. Miller called the AL2 Fleetwood’s new “adventure floorplan.” It is built to drive off-road with all-wheel drive and roof rack options.

The second floorplan, the SL2, is built on a larger Sprinter chassis with a 170-inch wheelbase.

Two other floorplans, the SL2E and SL4E, are built on 177-inch wheelbase Sprinters and include extra seating.

Xcursion has four different exteriors: Silver, Artic White, Tenorite Gray and Stone. Interior color options are graphite with repose gray cabinets or stone with khaki cabinets.

Fleetwood’s new van camper includes an Alpine sound system, a power-folding rear sofa bed, a 13,500 BTU Rooftop Gree air conditioner, a 2,000 watt inverter/charger, a power awning with an LED light and a porcelain toilet inside the wet bath. The kitchen has an induction cooktop, microwave and refrigerator.

Dealers have already begun ordering the new vehicle and Miller said in the coming weeks, Xcursions will ship out to Florida, Texas and California. Fleetwood RV will debut the vehicle to consumers at the 2024 RV SuperShow in Tampa, Florida.

“It’s very exciting for us to get into the B space,” Miller said. “We think that it continues to be a major part of the market for the RV industry.”
