Forest River, Inc. co-CEO David Wright will retire in April after implementing a near-term transitional strategy. Wright said the time was right to step away from his day-to-day responsibilities.
Doug Gaeddert, co-CEO, will assume the role of sole CEO. Darrel Ritchie will continue as Chief Financial Officer.
Forest River said Wright’s decision to retire was deeply personal, following the recent passing of his longtime friend, mentor and company founder, Pete Liegl.
Prior to his role as co-CEO, Wright led Forest River’s Bus and Van division for 22 years.
“It has been the greatest honor of my career to be part of this incredible company and to work alongside the most talented and selfless team in the industry,” Wright said. “Forest River’s leadership remains exceptionally strong, with a deep bench of individuals who are more than qualified to continue driving our success.”
Douglas Wright, former general manager of the bus and van division, will transition to the role of group general manager, reporting to Gaeddert. Douglas Wright brings extensive experience and expertise to his new position.
“I am sad to see my good friend and uniquely gifted colleague David Wright retire, but I certainly understand and respect his decision,” Gaeddert said. “Working alongside Pete as we did for all those years, and accomplishing so much during that time, has been an incredible experience.”
In August, Gaeddert was promoted to oversee Forest River’s entire RV division, including motorized and towable. He previously led the company’s towable division for more than 25 years. In January, Gaeddert was appointed to co-CEO.
