Forest River Ends California-Based Manufacturing

By the end of 2024, Forest River plans to close California-based manufacturing facilities in Hemet and Rialto.

The manufacturer is closing the facilities due to the rising cost of doing business in California. Around 400 employees will be affected.

The company said, “These increasing costs have made it challenging to maintain a competitive advantage from these facilities.”

Upon Forest River’s California manufacturing conclusion, the company will convert one of two facilities in Hemet to a dedicated Forest River Service Center.

Forest River President of the RV Division Doug Gaeddert said, “Forest River has a strong commitment to the California retail market, and although our manufacturing presence is ending, our dedication to our dealer and customers is unwavering.”

Manufacturing will be relocated to existing Forest River facilities in Indiana, where the company operates more than 100 manufacturing plants. The company also has plants in Oregon and Georgia.
