Forest River’s Kelly Green Dies at 49

Kelly Green, 49, product sales manager for Forest River’s XLR Boost toy haulers of Forest River RV, died suddenly Monday night at his home in Huntertown, Indiana.

Ten years ago, Green reached out to his longtime friend, XLR General Manager Brent Stevens, to see whether Green could sell RVs. Stevens carved out a small sales territory for Green, Forest River said, and Green went on to be the top XLR salesperson in his price point.

“I want to express my deepest sympathy to the Green family,” Stevens said. “The loss of such a good friend and colleague causes one to step back and evaluate what is important in the world. Your health, your family, and your friends should be your No. 1 priority.”

Green’s RV career began at Fleetwood RV in Decatur, Indiana, as a parts and service technician. He went on to become service manager at Dutchmen Manufacturing and rose to be director of purchasing and vice president of operations at Dutchmen.

In Green’s obituary, his family said he was known to have incredible fashion sense. Green was a grill master, bartender and avid Notre Dame fan, the family wrote, but was most importantly a hard worker and family provider.

Green, the son of Terry Green and Sandi Bruner, is survived by his wife, Kathy; three children, Kaleb Green, Cooper (Julia) Green, and Kourtney Green; his parents; brothers Todd (Nanda) Green and Bruce Bruner; sister, Kelley (BJ) O’Connor; in-laws, Jerry and Judy Niedzwiecki; brother-in-law, Jay (Robyn) Niedzwiecki; niece, Wren Niedzwiecki; and nephew, Rook Niedzwiecki.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today and 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 17, at Grace Gathering East, 3157 Minnich Road in New Haven, Indiana.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Grace Gathering East. Burial will immediately follow in Huntertown Cemetery.
