Foretravel Motorcoach Earns Green Certification

Foretravel Motorcoach of Nacogdoches, Texas, has been Certified Green by TRA Certification.

Foretravel earned the Emerald off-grid level of certification, the company stated, because RVs are shipped with 2-kilowatt solar panels standard.

“Foretravel Motorcoach is definitely proving that luxury and sustainability can go together,” said Mandy Leazenby, TRA Certification president.

To become Green Certified, Foretravel motorcoaches were evaluated in four categories: resource efficiency, energy efficiency, water efficiency and indoor air quality.

Foretravel manufacturing recycles or reuses a high percentage of waste. The company uses numerous jigs & CNC systems to reduce waste and maximize material usage. Several materials are cut to size by the supplier, and many materials are shipped using reusable/returnable shipping containers.

Foretravel can source certain materials and components from local suppliers which has a significant reduction on the environmental impact.

Foretravel motorcoaches incorporate LED lighting, Energy Star-rated appliances and radiant heated floors. Foretravel’s solar panels are standard and the motorhomes do not incorporate gas.

The manufacture builds motorhomes with a low-flow toilet, kitchen and bathroom faucet and shower head. Other water-efficient features include the Showermiser and an Aqua Hot instant water heater, also used to provide interior heat.

Finally, Foretravel motorcoaches incorporate low volatile organic compounds (VOC) in interior components, including sealants, hard flooring, cabinets and insulation. Low VOC carpet is used in slide outs, but the RVs contain mostly low VOC hard flooring. The motorhomes use a UViaLite Air Purification System. The system uses ultra-violet light (and no chemicals) to clean and purify the air in holding tanks.

“Foretravel Motorcoach will be the only Class A that is Certified Green,” Leazenby said. “This is exciting because these units are built with such attention to detail and I am so happy that sustainability is one of those details.”
